OUR OUTERBANKS

VACATION

COROLLA, NORTH CAROLINA

0CTOBER 2001

Instead of creating a Web Photo Album… I opted to create this Web Site of Our recent trip to Corolla, NC.   Many of Our friends and family expressed great interest in 4-Wheel drive territory in the Outerbanks and I thought this would be a good way to not only show off some more pictures of my kids, but give alittle info on the area that so few have heard of.

When they say 4-Wheel drive… that’s what they mean.  You definitely need a 4-Wheel drive to get to the houses there.  And might I also suggest that the earlier you can get into your house… the better.   We ran into a few problems only the first night that we arrived.  It had rained all day, Noah wasn’t feeling too well, and needless to say when we got to Carova Beach it was dark… very dark… and very rainy.  Driving on the beach was not a big problem, but finding the correct path to our house was.  Basically it had rained so much that the path to our house led right into a small pond.  Bob had to get out of the car and start walking to try and figure out how to get in.  Lucky for us we had some neighbors from PA and the man was nice enough to not only help find a safe path for us to drive, but to run in front of our Honda with a flashlight and lead us in.  Never had I had a more sickening feeling in my stomache than to be able to see our house and not know how we were getting our kids, our clothes and our food there.  We never got his name, but if he ever runs across this site I hope he knows how much we appreciate his help.

Anyways, with that said… take some time to look around the site and please be patient when the pages are loading because there are quite a few photos on each of them.
